Wellfleet Cinemas was built in 1986 and is independently owned and operated. All four screens all equipped with Dolby Digital EX. and JBL Speakers. For further information on the ratings click here for the MPAA

Sound:

Unlike most cinema multiplexes, all 4 of our screens have and have always had authentic Dolby sound processors in addition to quality JBL Speakers. We now have Dolby Digital EX installed on all screens. Some customers have asked why most of the sound does not come out of the surround speakers. As you can see on the Dolby web site (click here), most of the sound is destined for the Left Front, Center Front, and Right Front speakers behind our acoustically transparent screen, where the largest speakers are. The surround chain is usually only used for “flyover” or ambient sounds, not dialogue, and their usage is determined by the sound editor of the movie.

Concession:

We like to keep our concession prices far below that of the chains. We pop all of our own popcorn, we don’t have it shipped in.

Ownership:

We are locally owned by people who live on Cape Cod, not part of a chain. We are an integral part of the community and seek to improve it.

Upcoming Schedules:

Due to the dynamic nature of the movie industry, movies starting on Friday are booked four days earlier on Monday afternoon. Upcoming schedule is then posted to this web site on the Drive-In and Cinema pages.

Credit Cards accepted for both ticket purchases & concession at the indoor cinemas.
